Hi Ladies and Gentlemen! Newsy email time again. Here in the UK some folks are carefully going back to work, many more are continuing to work from home. People are urged NOT to take public transport...which is a reversal of years trying to get everyone out of their cars. There are incentives to walk or bike to work, fix bikes, make safer bike lanes etc. It really depends where you are if it will work for work...instead of just leisure.
As the weather warms here we drive very carefully around MANY bikes.
John and I (mostly John) are working on the American/British words video. It is taking on a life of its own, and we are having fun with it. There are even bloopers! Hope it’s ready next week.
I’m still gardening, and hand edging the yard, drying clothes by whirligig. My Brit friend calls it pegging, because you hold the clothes onto the line with “pegs”, or clothes pins.
The Oundle weekly market is getting back to normal. Last week there was watch repair, fruit and veg stand, plants and flowers, animal treats, candy, cheese, fish monger, household goods and a hot food stand. All by a one way track, with watchers making sure people were mindful of the social distance measures. I don’t go every week, but at least once a month. Some coffee shops in town are offering take away coffees and cakes too, so it’s really been nice to see the town bustling a bit. Coming back to life.
John and I were invited to see and even hold lambs last week. So delightful! We wore our wellies and got to walk all around the sheep field admiring the new babies.
Here are a video and a picture. They had 3 sheep each produce twins! The lambs in the picture were hours old. Incredible!
