The sun is shining here and we are going to have a “heatwave” this week! In the 80’s. Seems pretty nice except that we have no AC. But we will drink our tea iced and have our stiff upper lips at the ready. Whew.
This week I’ll venture out to the garden center to get a little hose piece. I ordered a hose winder from Amazon, but there was another piece needed, so off I’ll go. I will enjoy the trip, learn the names of a few more plants…and maybe find a little something to bring home. :)
I also expect to go visit the farm with lambs and sheep. The farmer’s wife is trying to “socialize” them, so I will be bringing my beach chair and wellies to sit with them and try to interact. What fun is this kind of “helping”!
ALSO….the video is finished! YAY John used some to his Father’s Day to finish it us. So here it is for your viewing pleasure ...
For Father’s Day we got to zoom with kids and grands, which was wonderful. So nice of them to make time to honor John in the middle of their busy lives. I made we ribs, baked potatoes, veg and a cheesecake. Delish…and leftovers!
The pictures below are: cows about 1/2 mile walk from home, sheep about a mile, newly mown hay in the field where we walked, 1.5 miles away, my view from upstairs at 10:30 pm longest day of the summer, and a rose in the front garden.
Life here is fine, but still in lockdown. No church yet, although you can go into a church and have individual prayer and reflection. Barbers are expected to open in July. A friend suggested I watch a video on tube to do a unicorn haircut….which I did, once I found my hair scissors. I think it worked fine…who is going to know??? Except my wonderful DIL in Atlanta who does an awesome job but is toooo far away. So anyway, the hair thing is fine, I had planned on long hair anyway for a while here, so its worked out great.
I hope you all are keeping well, finding the right goodies at the grocery. Seems like most shortages have evened out now. Here I think a lot of the problem was logistics rather than real shortages. Well- I take that back, there really were shortages of TP, flour and hand sanitizer. Something you can add to the pandemic story to tell future generations. Will they really believe it? Who knows.
Enjoy the summer as much as you can, stop watching the media if it gets you down. Be kind and forgiving and don’t sweat the small stuff. I know the next phrase is….its all small stuff! Am I right? Love you all, take care of yourselves, you are important to me, really. Thanks for coming along on this journey with me, in the countryside of England.
